    AK Questions

I'm currently in the market for an AK style rifle. I know the market is flooded with lots of options but, I have narrowed my choices down to three.
    -WASR-10
    -Russian Red Lancaster
-And maybe a Century GP 1975
-Possibly a Saiga (conversion later on down the road)

The WASR, GP1975, and Saiga would be bought from peachstateguns most likely and the Lancaster would be bought from ammobros on layaway.

I could buy the WASR/GP 1975 straight out so I like that but, is it worth it to buy a Lancaster using layaway? I know the quality is significantly higher but, is it work the money?

I'm leaning away from the WASR because of the quality control problems I've heard of them having.

    What do you think?

And I've got my flame suit on because I know this has been covered so... flame away!

I would recommend the Saiga. They are a great way to start out with an AK-style rifle. They are fun to shoot right out of the box and down the road you can convert it to a "true" AK on your own, or with the help of others. I know they may not look as cool as the others right out of the box, but believe me, you will get just as big a smile on your face when you pull the trigger!

So, my vote is for the Saiga!

I can't recommend anything from Lancaster, but that's because they are TERRIBLE people to do business with.... but if you would be getting it through Ammo Bros, then that's cool - they're good to go!

DO NOT BUY THE SAIGA. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

...because I know a guy who's looking to buy one, and you might take the one he wants.

Yes, it's been covered ad infinitum, so take these guys' word for it, they're factory-built in Russia and many come straight from the importer with all the right holes already cut in the receiver, begging to be converted. You will pay more in the long run for a Saiga+conversion than you would have if you bought something that's already built up and 922 compliant, but you'll be assured you're starting with a solid factory piece.

          Saiga +1

There are a lot of shops that just keep these in stock. I love mine (in my sig pic).

Straight from Russia, from the guys who invented the AK and still build them for the Russian millitary. Good quality for a ~$500 rifle, and can be converted later if you want. You won't regret it.

            I've decided on a Saiga.

I just ordered most of my conversion parts from K-Var and will probably purchase the rifle later next week when my tax return gets here.

Love my Saiga 12, but not happy w/Atlantic Firearms. Gun had multiple problems (which took 3 months to resolve) & customer service at AF was terrible. Consider Coldwar or some of the others before even thinking about Atlantic. Rude, unresposive, and slow. It might be worth a few bucks to get better service. Just my 2 cents.

He has made approx 8 of the same post today so he has a bone to pick with our firm , no problem we need to know what he purchased and his name & email address so we can look all this info up we are not ware of anything like this going on with a warranty issue . If we did ignore his emails & warranty issues for weeks on end & it actaully took 3 months to get the item taken care of because of our lack of care we want to learn from this aparent mistake and also send the customer a $100 refund to offset the issue.
