    affordable ar target trigger?

so i was testing out my new loads for 55 gr in my target/sniper ar upper. and holy crap was i really irritated. i have a standard dpms lower parts kit and i swear that trigger has a mile of pull on it and it is like a 20 pound trigger pull! i dont want anything finicky like my 10/22 triggers that are set at about a pound trigger pull, but i would like something clean and crisp for this upper to really see what it can do, but i dont want to spend an arm and a leg either... anyone know of a modification i can do or an affordable decent trigger to refer me to? thanks...

Polish the surfaces and put in JP light springs. ($12)

      Trigger job ($30)

      RRA 2-stage National Match ($90)

From there, prices take off ($200+)

DPMS' do vary, don't they? My standard LPK's trigger is incredibly smooth, breaks very cleanly

Get Bill Springfield to do a trigger job for you for iirc, $39. Great job and fast turn around.

I did this on a few and there is a definite improvement.

Agree with the Rock River 2-stage comments. I have three, and they're great. You can find them for around $85 shipped, and I've also found whole LPKs with the RR 2-Stage for ~$110.

The LMT two stage is nice also. Its about the same price as the RRA.

I've heard of reports of RRA 2 stagers giving up the ghost under heavy use (think Magpul Carbine class).

Anyone seen this first hand? How about the LMT setup?

I want to build out my next lower with a good 2 stage but don't want something that won't hold up.

I have a timney trigger. Not very cheap when you consider the alternatives but its well worth the money. Heres the cheapest place to find em.

Also, this guy has a lot of positive reviews. I may have him do one of my triggers.

Giessele SSA - $170 for a great drop-in two stage trigger. My DMR is a hair better/crisper than the SSA.

Timney 3lb full trigger not the skeletonized goes for around $179 or so. Geissele SSA is about the same. After that, it goes up from there for a Geissele match, AR gold, or KAC triggers
