My bug bite turned into the plague

I just finished my latest rifle. A RRA A2 uppered carbine (I wanted to be defferent from the 6 position, flatty, m4 crowd) and I wanted to have some fun with it and the rest of my collection at my dad's place in NV. The first thing my dad said when he saw my toys was "looks like that little bug bite of yours has turned into the plague." I could only say "thats what happens when its left untreated!" lol. I also though I'd sneak my dad's little toy in a pic.

On a side note, I did not know RRA barrels were so damn thick. I was worried my Surefire RIS would not fit. lol.

Great looking stable you've got there!

Would you mind giving details on the top rifle? I'm new to ARs and am not sure what I'm looking at, but that's EXACTLY the configuration I've been thinking about for my first build.

          Thanks!

            no problem.

            Stag-15 lower
            DPMS LPK
            RRA 2 stage NM trigger
            Magpul trigger guard
            Magpul PRS stock
            PSG-1 grip (DPMS i think)
Armalite 10 round mag and Prince 50 kit
DPMS 24 inch stainless fluted upper with free float tube
chambered in .223 not 5.56 (for accuracy)
            Leupold PRW rings
            Leupold VX-1 4-12x40mm optic
            Butler creek scope caps
            Stoney point target turrets
            Leupold sunshade 4 inch model

I custom made the finger rest on the trigger using hot glue and mold made of legos. lol. It came out flat and perfectly flawless. I gave it color using a sharpie. lol.

Nevermind, OP listed the rifle's parts. I was pretty close to getting it all right, though.

The whole upper is DPMS. I replaced the old gas block with a railed one by DPMS also.

Thanks very much for the quick reply.

Is the free float tube custom?

What twist rate is the barrel, and do you happen to know if DPMS chambers to minimum SAAMI specs?

                          Thanks.

Its a vented DPMS tube. I had to ask for it specifically in order to get it. its a 1/9 twist with the SAAMI chamber. I get 1 inch groupings at 100 yards with American Eagle 55 grain. I get groups under .3 inches with black hills 55 grain.

There is also one of those tac latches on it. Its kind of a must for low mounted scopes on flat tops.

I just want everyone to know that DPMS makes one hell of a high quality AR. People keep ranking things on a tier system with reference to what makes a "combat rifle". DPMS does not make combat rifles. None of their rifles are "combat rifles". However, all of their rifles are highly accurate sporting rifles. If their was a tier system for AR sporting rifles I'd place DPMS in a top spot.

That's not really an A2 upper... the receiver is, but that configuration is not. A2 would be carry handle and 20" barrel, just fyi.
