errr damn, i m having a major brain fart right now...

feel free to post up the FAQ / Tutorial links..

I'm right now in the process of figuring out whats the "best" upper assembly.
What I want: flat top with M4 "fat" handguards....and whatever best working mechanics system interior for my upper

i seem to have the lower/ stock / lower parts out the way....now im trying to pick out a good upper that will give me reliability

no failure to eject/fire/feed, not picky about ammo, etc...

damn damn damn a lot of reading, feel free to post up random help links, i'm reading other forums as well right now figuring out these extra terms

The FAQ is at the top of the page. Check out AR15 for several good tutorials.

Here's a suggestion. One thing that I've been doing for about a year now is keeping a folder on my computer named "AR Ideas." Every time I see a picture of an AR that I like, or the name of a particular accessory that I hear good things about, I'll save the picture or put a note into that folder. Because of this, I now have dozens of pictures of ARs that I find appealing, as well as tons of articles and product lists that I can refer to at any time.

        Just an idea.

If you are trying to keep the price down you might want to just order a "rifle kit" that comes with everything except the stripped lower. When you order the kit the companies allow you to make changes on the kit to get it the way you want. I have built a couple of Del-Ton kits which I really like. Other places to get kits are J&T Distributing, and if your interested in stag rifles you can get a complete m4 kit for $638 shipped here at AR15rifles.com. It's a flat top with a rear BUIS and a mag. All you will need is a bullet button. http://ar15sa.fatcow.com/store/page2.html Whatever you get I would suggest spending the little extra and get the chrome lined barrel. They are easier to clean and they tend to be more reliable. Stags are chrome lined. Mark
