One more thing...I am going to get the rifle at a local dealer that quoted me $545+DROS+Tax. Appears that is a good price, haven't seem them cheaper on line. Hopefully convince my lovely wife to visit the shop this afternoon to get it ordered.

I was just about to throw in my suggestion of a Tikka T3 as well. I own one in .308 and LH as well in stainless. I love my rifle. It's really accurate, as in sub MOA with match factory loads. The after-market support is a little lacking but with some help with google-foo, i found everything I need for it, a 20 moa rail, limb saver, check pad, and soon a "tactical" SS bolt handle. :-). You really do not need much at all to get a Tikka shooting straight. I'm sure my rifle will always outshoot me.

Anyways, here's a pic of my baby...

Remington is a great rifle as well, in fact that was what I originally set out to buy too! A .308 blued SPS from Bud's gunshop, but they were always sold out :-( and then I found out about Tikka :-)

Let us know how your son likes it... boy I wish my dad would buy me a rifle :-D
