    LPK trigger feel

The search tool came back with a bunch of posts that did not go over this.
I hope I didn't miss a sticky or some other obvious thread.

After a little over a year, I have finished my first AR15 build.
I'm proud to say that 99% of it was purchased from people or companies that are involved in this website.

    Anyway,
I have a Stag standard LPK.
I followed the How-To's and watched a couple YouTube videos.
    It function checks perfectly.
Now that I have the upper (finally), I am dry firing a few nights a week.

I expected the trigger to feel quite firm.
My question involves how it should feel when pulling back.
There is not a lot of slack, which I do not mind since the pull weight is so high. I'll compare it to a semi-auto handgun in DA "mode."
On a Sig P220, for example. If I start to pull the trigger, the hammer will start coming back towards me and once it breaks it will drop forward and go bang.
On my AR, I start to pull the trigger and start to feel what little slack I have, then if I let go it seems to stay right where it was. On the handgun the trigger more or less resets itself, where my AR seems to stay where it was.

My dry fire round count of sorts is maybe around 50 by now, so am I just experiencing just how it is on a trigger that's not broken in? What's funny is that if I get back on the trigger after the slight pull and release, it still takes a good amount of pressure but seems to break a hair smoother than if I had not stopped the trigger pull. Maybe it is like 6 pounds instead of 8 pounds of pull.

I installed the LPK into the lower about 15 months ago. I did not add any lube/CLP to it. Just put it together. I've read where people have said not to use anything in there. Now that I'm very close to hitting the range, I'm paying attention to these fine details and this one just seemed weird.
Pulling the trigger partway and releasing seems like it should reset the trigger back to where it started from.

So I guess my questions are:
Is my description normal for a new standard LPK?
Normal for standard AR triggers regardless of age?
Will an entry level 2 stage trigger react any differently?

Thanks for any education you can give.
