These are new to me. Curious to know if they can be made cali legal. They are 28 inches in overall lenth, but Im thinking with a longer muzzle break and a radlock they should be good to go right?

Well since the magazine is mounted into the receiver the same as a normal AK, that can be fixed easily, you'd just have to find a way to add 3" to the length. Either with a longer fixed muzzle device or something on the buttpad."If it wears out, replace it. If it breaks, upgrade." -Cranky Air Force Vet.

Interesting...well, actually very ugly!
It's probly no different than your average WASR. Looks like they just added a cheek weld/smaller stock..Higher sights.
Would be interesting to add to a collection.California Uber Alles, California Uber Alles

exactly. what calls my attention is the difference factor about it from a traditional AK. It reminds me a little of the British L85A2.WELCOME TO CALGUNS!! Search first!!

Ive read reviews on it before. I cant find it right now, but I remember the general consensus:
DON'T DO IT.
Some points they had against it were:
*Really crappy plastic feels like just that, crappy plastic.
*Ergonomics WAAAY off.
*Trigger flimsy, didn't reset most of the time. Very unreliable.
*Requires permanent modification to the FSB/Receiver.
*Sights = crap
I would recommend against it. It looks ok, but I would take a regular Romy G over one of those any day.If you live in the Sacramento area, check your Local Forum frequently to see how you can help restore Gun Rights.

Interesting idea, poor execution. The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

I played with/handled a couple of K-Var AKU-94s back in the 1990s.
I liked the concept, but the actually product did not meet expectations (the Norinco 86S is a better AK bullpup than this and it doesn't even come close to a Valmet M82).
K-Var use to make and sell the bullpup stock (marketed as the AKU-94) that Century International Arms uses.
The stock set got bad reviews (shoddy construction/materials, horrible trigger) and combined with slow sales, K-Var ditched it.
K-Var eventually sold the design to Century International Arms and Century uses it with Romanian AK kit guns to make their 1975 GP AK bullpup.
The Century International Arms 1975 GP aK bullpup still retains the crappy trigger inherent to the AKU94 stock set.
Side note:
The K-Var AKU-94 bullpup stock was used to dress up a bunch of RPKs for use in the Kurt Russel movie "Solider".Last edited by Quiet; 01-09-2010, 11:48 AM.sigpic

Thanks for the info on its performance. Looks like I will be passing on it, but I would still like to add a bullpup rifle to my collection, and unfortunately, I just dont see too many around this country let alone CA.WELCOME TO CALGUNS!! Search first!!
