    Question about Ak

Ok so i cant seem to figure out.. how you would load a Ak-47 or 74 with a raddlock, and pistol grip... legally? in the AR / Ak memo on page 4 it said to never remove the clip while pistol grip is attached.

Old memo...you can use a tool to remove the MAGAZINE.

The BB/Rad is a modification to the GUN...with or without the mag...its neutered.

I'm going to add another question...

so I bought a wasr-10 from a gunshow (in california), and I got Bulgarian 10/30's from coldwar shooters. I also bought (haven't installed yet) a Romanian pistol grip to replace the black one it came with.

If I install the pistol grip will it still be compliant with the US laws? Sorry if the question has already been answered somewhere on here.

Yes as long as there is a maglock of some sort. Maglock must go on first before the pistol grip; otherwise you have an unregistered assault weapon on your hands.

You're not able to remove magazine from AK if you're not using tool (pen, screwdriver, knife or bullet).
If it was illegal - dealer will not touch that rifle.
You able to configure your AK or AR rifle:
          - NO PG attached or you have device from duraglock - Solar Tactical AK Kydex Grip Wrap - and you able to use mag well with no raddlock. You do not have 30 rd magazine; but others who got them before 2000 - may use them with this configuration.

          - If you like to have natural view of your rifle with PG attached - you MUST have raddlock installed BEFORE you install PG. In this case you may use magazines with MAX - 10 rd ONLY.
Again - for Tantal (with no regular stock) - second configuration - preferable. It is my view, but of course somebody may (and will) have a different opinion.

            PingPong,
I believe this question is in regards to 922(r), and not SB23.

You must count up your imported parts.
Ruling is 'No more than 10 imported parts'.
If the pistol grip you wish to change out is one of the American made parts that make it compliant with 922(r) then you'll need to change something else to American made in order to keep the no more than 10 imported parts on the rifle when you install the Romanian pistol grip.
A good break down of 922(r), and parts chart here>>>Linky

Some easy parts to change out are trigger, hammer, disconnector, and muzzle device. The other easy option is using American made mags as that would count as 3 parts (although you have already mentioned using a Bulgarian 10/30)

              Woops, good call. My bad.

Out of curiosity, how would they know where the wood was made from? What's stopping people from just saying all three pieces of wood was made in USA?

Often if it's US made it is stamped or marked in some way, to please people looking for 922r US parts.

There is nothing to stop you modifying a Romy G handguard by cutting of the forward grip and completely refinishing it and the stock, ie. in russian red with polyurathane or oil finish, etc) because it could be argued that the furniture had been modified substantially enough, that it is now a US made set of furniture.
