I'm really starting to think hard about putting together a business plan for a Gun & Accesories shop in Concord. All these unhappy customers and an ability to run on a low margin would be a good combination....
No matter what a shop owner does, there will still be bad comments. "He was rude, they took too long, it smells, high prices, their lazy, I got screwed."
You can give stuff away and someone will complain that you ran out just as they came up for free stuff. If everyone that had a real complaint would say something to the owner, maybe things would change. People are funny, what 99 percent of people find good, the other 1 will not.

These guys are lazy bastards who could care less about anybody under 25. I have to demand their attention to get it. I'm only headin there today due to time constraints for a trip tomorrow.

I have paid $33 per brick for Wildcat at Wildsports. Yea it was a bit overpriced but it was available at the time. Live n learn.
War*mart will take ammo back, you just have to make sure the deck is stacked in your favor, like making sure the employee hands you the wrong ammo from the locked cabinet. They donate it all to the local PD since they can't put it back on the shelf even if it never left the store.

*because it's always a war zone when I go.

I've seen someone who looks identical to the fat guy fill the saddlebags of his crotch rocket with ammo at Warmart down the street from Wild Sports early in the morning. He looked real sheepish when I waved at him from across the parking lot. I make no judgments...

There is cheaper .22lr out there but not by much. There is more expensive .22lr out there that is terrible as well.
            Agreed.

I pay about .07/round for CCI Mini-Mags, because that's all my Browning Buckmark will feed reliably. I've never gotten anything but CCI to work.

When I was last at Cabela's in Glendale, AZ they had .22LR for $10/50 rounds. I can't recall the brand but it was "fancy" .22

            To the OP:

What brand did you get? Most .22LR is cheap but not all of it. Those CCI Mini-Mags I pay .07/round for are EXTREMELY accurate compared to bulk Federal.

my friend is hooking me up with some CCI blazers from now on. actually my current rifle henry survival ar-7 takes remington 36 gr brassplated hollowpoints very well. NO jams at all. i can go through 2 mags in 10 seconds. versus jamming the **** up with the wildcat ammo. i always got failure to eject.

btw i picked up the remington ammo from my local folsom Big 5 and the guy was so awesome. (bald headed older guy) as soon as i walked in and he saw me, he put the ammo on the counter right away and i was in and out in like literally 2 minutes.

              here's my $100 d'oh purchase

And the store is no good as well...
Ultimately, WS isn't the most fancy store and the customer service isn't ideal, but I've had far worse customer service at Sportsmans Warehouse. As far as your purchase goes, seriously, that is on you that you didn't say something when the purchase was rung up. When I've been checking out at a store and a price didn't seem right to me, I speak up. That's not the store's fault and like with liquor, once you finalize the deal, it's final.

The only reason lots of these gun stores stay in business is because the repeat customers who get mad at the way they are treated wont do anything about it ( like stop shopping there or report them to the DOJ if they are overcharging etc) and the new customers they get ( average Joe wants a gun to protect his family) come in buy a gun and a box of ammo ( soon to be forgotten on the top shelf of the closet)
yeah the gun scare has somethign to do with it but come on loets face it a lot of the buyers of guns during the gun scare WERE the first time or maybe second time customers. just the guys who want one before they outlaw it.
Personally if I get crappy treatment at a store ANY store I simply let my wallet vote and I simply don't go there to buy anything. While I stepped foot in turners ( buddy wanted to buy something) I simply do not shop at Turners

Let me tell you a story I HAD with this poorly run establishment.
I'm pretty young so is my wife..Mid 20's.
We both like guns...scratch that LOVVEEE guns "One" more than the other but I stray from topic. I called to Wild Sports and asked if they had a particular handgun in stock(Springfield Professional). Me and my wife discussed putting it in her name since I had just Drosed one and REALLY wanted this one. Kind of extra nice to have a wife 2 guns a month haha up yours stupid california law. Orangevale is a little drive from SF. But they had this gun in stock I wanted. We get to Wild Sports and I'm dealing with this rude scratchy voice manager who I apparently talked to on the phone. I had made NO suggestion on phone or in person that "I" wanted the gun. We arrive and start talking and want to get paperwork going. He looks at me and said "HSC, Drivers Licence & vehicle registration please" I said "Don't look at me my Wife is purchasing this" He then said come on since when do and I quote "WOMEN" buy guns like this.. This is a straw purchase isn't it? I went on to explain I never made any remarks or suggestions on ME purchasing this firearm. And that his little comment he made was offensive and dumb. I didn't feel the need to tell him that my wife's father is kind of a somebody at BBB. I think he might know by now. Needless to say we left. Scratch that one off the list.
