It is an A3 upper, that is a detach carry handle it looks like.

SAS Forget the "A3" flat top designation for now.

The M16A4 is the detachable carry handle version of the M16A2. Main differences being the detachable carry handle upper receiver, corresponding F stampled front sight base and feed ramps extended into the upper receiver (a la M4). Currently being issued by the USMC. At the Unit level the round two piece handguards are replaced by two piece KAC M5 RAS handguards.

Looks like a A2 Upper to me or are you thinking of a A3 Upper IE flattop ?

As for whoever wondered if they could use an M16A4 in CMP.... I know they just made it so detachable carry handles are now legal, maybe someone should e-mail them and ask them if KAC rails are legal since they are used by the military?

I've been seeing almost new KAC M5 RAS going for $200 as people switch over to DMR configurations. The DMR uses a free floated handguard (Daniels Defense?) and a few other tweaks to the off the rack M16A4

If you bought the RRA NM LPK, check the inside of the pistol grip for the trigger guard. I have never had a missing part from a RRA LPK.
