If a stock pistol grip is cut-off at or above the trigger guard is it still considered a pistol grip? How about no grip at all with set screw to capture the detent spring? Anyone know of options that don't use CA style grips or stocks?

AR pistol grip question

ar you looking for an ar pistol..... grip, or an ar.... pistol grip? i think there's two different answers. the stock thing throws me off. if you want a rifle, you can use a non-collapsible stock, and a number of different options, like the monsterman grip, hammerhead grip, or the solartac grip wrap. i suppose you could use an allen screw to retain the safety detent, but it would be unreliable due to the near zero travel of the spring, and the options already available are pretty good....
for a pistol, it is more complex. you would pretty much just be stuck with a bullet button, due to the different aw rules for pistols....
sorry, i guess the centerfire rifles section answers my question.. duh...
i dont think the safety detent would work well with an allen screw system, there is not enough throw for the spring.. unless you want to just lock it into fire mode....
what dont you like about what we have available?Last edited by sevensix2x51; 12-31-2009, 7:04 PM. -
sorry, "standard" pistol grip would have been more clear. I have nothing against the mm grip except that I find a cut down grip or no grip at all more comfortable in use.Comment
