    Building my first EBR

So far I've got a Spikes Tactical lower and a Rock River Arms LPK. I'm buying a complete BCM midlength upper for it and I plan on running free float hand guards and a MOE stock and topping it off with an Aimpoint. Does it sound like a good build?

BCM and Aimpoint is quality stuff. What Aimpoint model are you going with? Don't skimp on the mount! And BCM is now offering a lightweight barrel profile midlength but they are sold-out. I'm eying that for my next build.

I'm thinking the CompML3. I'm gonna get the BCM BFH midlength.

I run a ML 3 on one of my ARs in a Larue Cantilever mount. It has the newer LED technology similar to the M4 or T1/H1 that means you can pretty much keep the sight on and just swap the battery on a frequency basis and never worry about it. When I first got the ML3 it had some issues - would string shots in a vertical 6inch pattern at 25 yards. Sent it back and Aimpoint sent me a new one and I haven't had problems since.

One of the T&E guns in my last class was a BCM Midlength (not the BFH though) and it now has a documented >28,000 rounds through it. Those guns run well.

Sounds like you're gtg so far.

You may want to use a Rock River LPK with the two-stage trigger though. Big improvement over the GI.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.
