Next to me in the blackness lay my oiled blue steel beauty. The greatest Christmas gift I had ever received, or would ever receive. Gradually, I drifted off to sleep, pringing ducks on the wing and getting off spectacular hip shots.

I've only gotten one wild pig, and I used a Sako Finnbear in .30-06. Used a Federal Classic 150 grain SP and it worked just fine. Haven't gotten around to testing a lead-free load yet.

Wild pig from what I hear is pretty hit or miss because it can be really gamey.

So sometimes it's sausage, sometimes it's bacon until you can't eat any more!

I eat everything I kill unless it is diseased or not enough meat to worry about. Hog is fine table fare.

How does coyote taste? Don't say it's like chicken!

Well, the one pig I got, I ate. He was less than 100 lbs and great eating. The smaller pigs generally do taste better, and the largest one I've eaten meat from was about 200 lbs. It was also very good meat. The pig's diet also makes a difference in the flavor of the meat.

Generally a trophy boar has big tusks several inches long. They can also grow to be 400 lbs or more. I've never eaten one of those, but I hear the meat is tougher and you can either stew it, or make jerky. But if I had the choice, I'd take a smaller pig, less than 200 lbs.
