So its been about 4 years since I got my first OLL in Jan 06. Over the past 3 to 4 months I finally decided to take what I learned over the past 4 years and rebuild my carbine.
To start lets look at her circa 06. 90% of this build was purchased from Bravo Company USA. The lower was purchased from Cold War Shooters and the LPK was purchased from ar15barrels.com.

Upper: Noveske N4 Light Recce Low-Profile 16" Upper
I had Randall over at ar15barrels.com cut down the barrel to 14.5" and then perm attach a Surfire MB556AR brake. Now some will ask "Why" and I have 2 answers. First off I like the total length to be 16" and secondly I like the way it looks.
Rail: Noveske Branded SWS Low Pro RailI love the low profile rails Noveske uses. However because they aren't as wide as standard rails I had to modify the Magpul AFG because it would not clear anything that was mounted to the rail.
Lower: RRA LAR-15Lower Parts Kit: RRA
Trigger: Geissele SSA Non-Adjustable Combat Trigger
The RRA trigger broke just before a class I was taking. Swapped it out with a standard trigger as a quick fix and just got the Geissele a few weeks ago. Haven't even gotten a chance to shoot the rifle with the new trigger yet.
Grip: Magpul MIAD Full KitStock: Magpul CTR
Vert Grip: Magpul AFG
Rail Panels: Magpul Ladder Rail Panels
I went with the Ladder Rail protectors after trying several standard panels over the years. For this build I wanted a low profile setup and you can't get much lower profile than the ladder rail protectors.
Optics: Nightforce NXS Compact 1-4x24 in a Larue MountFinding the right optic for me was probably the most expensive part of the past 4 years. I started off with the ACOG. It worked great and was content with it for quite some time. I switched to an EOTech in September and ran it for a class. It also worked great but it still wasn't what I wanted. After much research I decided a 1-4 optic would give me the best of both worlds and I decided on the Nightforce with a Cat Tail lever for quick adjustments of the magnification ring.
Backup Irons: Noveske Branded Troy SightsLight: Surfire X200 with tape switch.
I moved my X200 from my pistol to this rifle. I tried several different placement options for the tape switch but ended up putting it on the top rail after seeing pacrimguru setup in the .223 gallery thread.
Misc: Magpul BAD, KNS Anti-Roll Pins-----------------------------------------------------------------------
