      You don't want the assembeld 10/30s in CA if they can be converted back to 30 rounds. The law mentions "permanence" in using hicap mags restricted to 10 rounds. While the exact threshold is not defined, it should be well-nigh impossible to recover capacity in these mags to be legal. Any ability to recover capacity above 10rds in such mags without major destruction of part(s) might welll be regarded as insufficient.

      And remember that using a hicap mag (or something that ends up being considered a hicap mag because the restriction was not permament enough) in a BB-equipped fixed-mag rifle could also be regarded as triggering AW status.

      Stick with the 10s.
