My AR build questions thread

I, like many others before me, am venturing out into the AR realm.
Being a poor college student, i'll be looking for "best for the money" buys and BOTG connections. Have to piece one together over time.

Im looking at getting a stag tactical complete lower to start (hopefully its CA legal?), found one for $250+$50 (DROS, FFL).


Sounds like a good deal to me, anyone seen better?

$90 Spikes lower from spikestactical.com
$50-$60 for DROS and Transfer
$50 DPMS lower parts kit from Bravocompany.com
$99 Magpul MOE KIT from dsgarms.com (includes buttstock, grip, forearm and all mounting hardware)
Plus you get to put it together yourself.

**** when I bought my stripped spikes lower from my local gun shop it was like $250... for a stripped lower!! Just picked up my bear logo calguns logo last week. 99 bucks from riflegear

my brother has the spikes with the 3 pos fire control selector on it, nice touch.
I saw a new sharps rifle company lower stripped for $80.00 if I want to go budget

Go for it. Remember that the lower (in general) is a non-stress part so the only REAL criteria is that the holes line up and are where they're supposed to be.

I'm lucky to have a half dozen AR's that were registered back before this stupid OLL garbage and can do whatever I want to them, but feel for you guys with al the neutering that goes on with your rifles.
