Try Turners, or Martin B Retting, they usually have a good variety of Rem 700's

Rifle Gear has one in stock, as of last week.

Just a heads up. Turners has the SPS in .308 but it has the 26" barrel. I beleive they are about $560.00 and change. I bought my tactical from Riflegear.

Was at Martin B Rettings today. They had 2 Tacticals in .308 and 1 in .223. They were $599 and came with a $40 rebate from Remington.

                  Just to clear things up...

There are two different heavy barreled SPS 308's.
The "Tactical" has the 20" barrel which is fine for 600yds and closer.
The "Varmint" has the 26" barrel that you should get if you want to shoot past 600yds.

I heard that Remington is discontinuing the SPS Tactical. Any truth behind that? I checked their website and I don't see it any more.

I'm not sure about them discontinuing it, but the Tactical model is only sold through Remington Premier Dealers. That said, I got mine on Gunbroker from a place called Paducah Shooters in Kentucky. Tim at Fort Courage did the transfer.

A few weeks back I saw the 26" varmint at bass pro shops for $550.
