Scout scope for a Socom 16...

I am looking for a decent scout scope for a Socom 16. I want a long eye relief scope. Any advise or clues to where I can pick one up?

    Thanks

Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Leupold & Burris both make a scout scope. I prefer the heavier burris reticle, but through the leupold scope looks better (IMHO).

AVOID trying to use an adjustable magnification scope.

The Socom has a heavy recoil, I am concerned that the scope will lose its accuracy in time. I know Leupold & Burris and trust that brand. But, I am looking to save some in the pocket... Anything Cheaper?

Cheaper than $230? I think you're going to have a very hard time finding something worthy of an M1A for less. I wouldn't bother trying.

1.) Put it under the tree. From Santa.
            2.) open it.
3.) Convincingly act like you're surprised and you think she bought it for you.
4.) Tell her you love her, she's the best, and you think it's awesome she knew just what you wanted.
5.) If she asks where it came from, etc., act hurt - since you thought it was so special she bought it for you.
            6.) enjoy scope.

This used to be my set up for pig hunting. I had a leupold scout scope, still have it. I sold my socom because i didnt really like the idea of the thick irons when i wanted to shoot open sights. I sold it but kept the scope. Some day I will find a rifle to put it on lol!

The socom doesnt have heavy recoil. There are leupold and burris scopes on .338 win mags for example. The scope will do fine. If you put a cheap scope though, you are stuck with a cheap rifle. Why buy two or three times before you finally buy right? In the end you will have spent enough for two of the leupold. Avoid the ajustable scout scopes btw.
