My brand new timney did the same thing......warranty took care of it though! Im sure you have everything set up right if it could happen to a drop in trigger, it could happen to a regular trigger.

If if you're going to dry fire, don't dry fire the lower only. Attach it to the upper so you have the bolt carrier/bolt with it. Better yet, use snapcaps. If you dry fire the lower, just catch the hammer with your thumb so it doesn't slam.Comment

Or, you can do it with the upper attached -- dry fire, keep the trigger held down, and rack the charging handle. Then release the trigger. That way you don't have to worry about the hammer flying forward.
