My brand new timney did the same thing......warranty took care of it though! Im sure you have everything set up right if it could happen to a drop in trigger, it could happen to a regular trigger.

If if you're going to dry fire, don't dry fire the lower only. Attach it to the upper so you have the bolt carrier/bolt with it. Better yet, use snapcaps. If you dry fire the lower, just catch the hammer with your thumb so it doesn't slam.

I'm guessing there's no way to test if the trigger will reset properly after it is pulled once without live fire.

Keep the trigger held down after it dry fires. Re-cock the hammer. Release the hammer. Release the trigger. Listen and watch for "click" of the reset.

Release the trigger first and then the hammer? Or, keep the trigger held down and release the hammer?

Ooh, sorry, yeah I got the order mixed up there. Release the trigger but keep the hammer held down.

Or, you can do it with the upper attached -- dry fire, keep the trigger held down, and rack the charging handle. Then release the trigger. That way you don't have to worry about the hammer flying forward.

I just tried this...it worked so thank you. However, the trigger is still hanging up.
