specs: i used 2 REALLY! strong magnets and super glued them together, and then topped it off with a washer to make hitting the button easy.

the way it works is just by sticking to the mag latch since it's steel and it moves freely since everything in the BB is aluminum. and the magnets are STRONG! theres no way this tool is going to pop out under recoil or running, nada! but you can pull it out with a slight tug.

makes working the release the same as original

only one problem, in the picture above you have a permamently attached 30 round mag... only use 10rounders!

Necessity is the mother of invention!! I'm sure glad that there are alot of people who think outside of the box and can come up with these little wonders that will make the use of a Cali-legal AR fun.

I picked up a BB at the Costa Mesa show, can't wait to install it and then make the magical magnet tool.

I think some caution needs to be used here. If you can put your tool into the hole and the tool can remain in the hole, is it really a tool or just an extension?

For example, a bullet cannot be left inside the Bullet Button or it will fall out. Your "tool" seems that it can be left attached to the Bullet Button and remain a part of the rifle. If I were a smart DA, I think I could get me an assault weapon conviction.

This should be considered when thinking of ideas for using "a tool" for your Bullet Button kit. If it can be left in the mag release somehow, it might not be a tool, just an extension.

Semi-auto Sam you might want to think about this for your new design as well.

Do you see how his button magnitizes to the inside of the Bullet Button? That might not be considered a tool, but an extension of the device. In which case it is a magazine release that does not require the use of a tool to remove. A bullet is considered a tool. A magnet enjoys no such definition under CCR 978.20.

You guys really need to be careful with your new found freedom.

I just stuck a magnet to a mag release bar that I had sitting in the back. It might not stick to the button, but the bolt that is inside of it.

Did you all see the idea where the extra mags had a bullet tip or just a machine screw sticking out of the hole on the bottom of the magazine? That shouldn't hang up in the BB.

How about it is either in the Taft PO drop box or it is in my car because my 31 packages clogged up the box and I have to go back down there right after I wake up at 6 AM to drop the rest off so they will leave Taft today?
