Anyone use the 450 Bushmaster round yet

I see that Bushmaster has an upper chambered for this round.
    Jeff Cooper mentioned it briefly.
Does anyone have this upper installed?
    Any feedback?
    Thanks

The round is mentioned in a writeup of AR based hunting rounds in this months edition of American Rifleman....the author says he is quite happy with it.

I'm curious about this as well since Bushmaster is having a sale on this upper. Looks like a big round, but how hard does it hit it's target?
Will this round penetrate hard and soft armor?

Loaded up with the same 230gr FMJs that your 45ACP is packing, but zooming out at around 2800fps, they should zip through pretty much anything.

These quotes are from the developer of the round:

I've shot the rifle a bit.....haven't hunted with it yet.....

The ammo is cheaper than 458 or 50 .......so, I shoot it more often.....

I just ordered a 16" upper. Range report when it and a rear sight arrive.

I see that Bushmaster offers a 16" and a 20" barrel. Did you have a choice? If so, why the 16" ?

              Thx

                  The rifle

                  The ammo

                  Close up

Sorry but I flinched on the last shot...what can I say it has a nice kick to it. 100yrds 5mph cross wind.

Great round I am very happy with my rifle, I have the 20" version. The kick on it is more like a .270 than a 20ga.
But I being poor, have only my dreams. I have spread my dreams under your feet. Tread softely, because you tread on my dreams.

This weapon will be primarily for pig hunting. These are not long distance shots, the 16" barrel will be fine. The shorter barrel will be more manageable in thick brush.

...anything except a one gallon water jug! The last link says the round "exploded into thousands of little pieces" in the first jug of water.

I knew it! Who's laughing at my "20 Gallons of Armor" battle suit idea now, huh?! Huh?!

A standard 230 gr hollow point is designed to expand at less than 1000 fps, if you push it nearly 3 times that fast it will explode pratically on contact. You are better off using Hornady's 240 gr magnum bullets at high velocity.

Hornady makes a polymer tipped bullet specifically for this application.
