Can I suggest a better upper. If you're going bigger and better, get a 20" sabre or something like that. Much better build quality. Look at the JP uppers that they have on sale at www.jprifles.com Those things rock.

The only thing they didn't get is my Remington 870 and Ruger Alaskan which were in the wall-safe in the house.

State farm has been awesome and is sending me a fat check but, I know I won't be able to get my DE back as it is not CA approved. So I am going to rebuild my AR and get a new XD. The rest of my collection I will definately try to find them in the private arms section here on Cal Guns.

In true American tradition I am gonna rebuild it bigger and better. This is what my new AR is gonna consist of. I ordered some of the parts yesterday and am looking for suggestions on the blanks. This is my first build as I bought my other AR assembled. Let me know if I am missing anything guys.

Bushmaster complete upper (20" 1.7 twist barrel)
        Stag Lower
Magpul CTR Mil. Spec adjustable butt stock
Midwest Industries MCTAR-19 (2 Piece Full Length) Rail
        DPMS Musenek muzzle brake
        EOTech 552
EOTech G23.FTS Gen II 3x Magnifier
        YHM-9753 Single Point Sling

I'll post pics hopefully sometime this weekend.
Cool you got some back.. confused.. you have a few Ar's in the reunited pics but i thought you only had one stolen and they did NOT get it back (LEO)

So No side story what was what and how they got them back to you?

How hard was it to get your Ar's back from Leo...?

Holy Crap!!! That's just a few miles from me!!!!

Advice? Get an alarm system. A loud one with motion sensors and glass break sensors and not just door opening sensors. Don't know anything about your burglary, but very often they gain access by breaking a window or even the sliding glass door in the rear of the house. Secure your windows and the door jambs on your entry doors. I mean REALLY secure them. Do an internet search on how to do this. Minimal investment can yield great returns.

Also (and you now know this), bolt the damn safe down to the slab!!!!

A good alarm will scare off most punk, smash and grab burglars.

I'm fortunate in that my both neighbors on either side of me are ALWAYS home, day and night. They see everything, are great folks and we all look out for one another.

Sorry for your loss. Get a bigger safe and bolt it down!!!!!

            Regards,

            John

I hate hearing stories like this.

                No security system in place?

I've been a believer in and user of safes for the last 30 + years, and now and then you hear about some group making off with a complete safe - to me it sounds like an inside (not the owner) job.

Some outsider spies the safe on a service call or somesuch, and the service guy whatever tips somebody, who then do their homework to determine when to hit.

A good security system or a four-legged security device is useful in stopping these types.

Bolting the thing down is a good deterent to amatuers, and you'd think that having the safe on the second floor would be too, but pros know how to get around just about anything you throw at them, short of lead.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.
