    AR 10 lower parts kit

Can I use an Armalite AR 10 lower parts kit on a Fulton Armory AR 10 receiver?
If not, then are any of the parts compatible? I see where Fulton sells their Ar 10 lower parts by the piece.

I was thinking since Armalites LPK is only $100.00, I can buy that and replace the non compatible parts with the Fulton Pieces.

    Thanks for the help.

The Fulton .308 is DPMS compatible, you will have to use the DPMS .308 LPK.

Okay, I know the DPMS parts kit is compatable with my Fulton lower, but are you saying none of the Armalite parts are compatable?

        Thanks again for your help!

DPMS and Armalite have different size Pins (Take Down/Pivot), the DPMS Kit is what you will need for the Fulton.

If the DPMS parts is what is needed in the Fulton then you can use a standard AR15 lower parts kit with the following:

            DPMS Bolt Catch Screw: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...eitemid=283473

            DPMS Pivot Pin: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...eitemid=159459

            DPMS Takedown Pin: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...eitemid=115303

Yes, these are the only three different parts from a standard AR-15 LPK.

I just don't get it. CWS shows the .308 LPK for $189. Midway shows the specific DPMS .308 parts for under $18. A standard DPMS LPK is listed at $55.

Why is one $189 and the other two only $73??? Both DPMS kits.

Are you looking at a DPMS LPK (for an AR-15) or a DPMS LPK for DPMS's *308* rifle?

Edit: Never mind, looks like you guys have done your DPMS research. Don't have one myself, so I don't know what's going on there...

Thanks to all very much. I just can't see how an AR 10 lower parts(specifically a DPMS) kit could cost double what an Armalite kit would cost.

So, now I've got it...buy a regular lower parts kit and buy the 3 parts that DRM and Xeno( by the way, it was nice meeting you on Saturday morning) listed and I'm all set. Right?

The posts above correctly identified the "three pins" difference between a generic AR15 LPK and a DPMS .308 LPK. I spoke directly to DPMS about this and they confirmed that it was true.

After browsing the DPMS catalog about a year ago, I noticed that the parts seemed to be similar in the LPKs. While, DPMS charges about $50+ for the AR15 LPK, they charge $189 for the .308 LPK. Suspecting that the only difference was the three pins, I called DPMS to verify. I spoke to a DPMS employee who builds rifles and asked him point blank if it was true that the ONLY difference between the two LPK's was the three pins (total cost around $18), which are available for purchase separately. He said "You got us on that one. All you need is an AR15 lower parts kit and the three pins."

What explains the difference? I think it is obvious that DPMS was hoping that no one would notice and that people would just assume the parts are different. It's kind of silly that they are still charging that much for the .308 LPK given the fact that a lot of people caught on to the ruse. Not the brightest marketing move if you want customer loyalty.
