    Choate Ultimate Sniper Stock

Hey all. I was just wondering the performance of the Choate Ultimate Sniper would be like on a Rem 700 XCR 300 Win Mag. It would be replacing the standard XCR stock which is decent, but I would like an update, and the Choate looks like a great product for a great price, but I would like all of your opinions (not on the looks please, useful info haha)!

    Thanks,
    Scott

Personally I think the stock on the XCR is way better than that fantastic plastic, I have a buddy that built a .222 mag in a choate stock and he hates it. It is heavy as heck.

ive got one on a savage 10 in .308, and i like it a lot. it has a good length of pull for me, the weight absorbs a lot of recoil, and the cant in front is good for minor elevation adjustments when using sandbags, i can just slide the rifle slightly forward or backward on the bags to fine tune the aiming. i can also use the threaded "foot" on the buttstock to do the same thing, when using a bipod. positive grip with the little 'spikes' on the grips... it is heavy, but its great for when you want to shoot a loong ways, without hiking too far. my 2 cents.

It heavy, its cluncky and really only good for prone if even that. Most people consider them an adequate boat anchor
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

A friend swapped his factory stock on his Rem. VSSF for one, his groups went from 1/2" at 100 yards to 1/4". I didn't think it would do much of anything other then make the rifle even heavier but after swapping it out and seeing the results I was impressed.

If you're gonna change the stock, upgrade, not downgrade. Go McMillan or Manners.

It's a big improvement over the Savage 110FP factory plastic stock and the weight is there for a reason. I filled the pistol grip compartment with lead shot for added weight. Increase in performance was noticeable.
