SEVANS: That wood furniture looks beautiful. Did you keep the FCG stock or have you upgraded to Danzig G2? (I am looking to improve the trigger feel in my 7.62)

Yes both have Dinzag's FCG installed as well as his bullet guides. It's a noticeable improvement and helps with 922r.

Was the FCG hard to install, can anybody who's mechanically inclined install it themselves or do you need to know a bit more? I want the FCG for my saiga
so i can use all my preban mags.

Install is very easy. The BHO spring is a pain but just takes some patience.

sorry to bug, but is it easy to just remove the BHO feature? I had one get stuck on my Saiga 12 and dont like em anymore. It was a pain to get the bolt free. I'd rather have the safety cut to hold the bolt back.

Is the stock Saiga configuration FCG available for 922(r) needs? All I've seen has been the Tapco and other standard AK (meaning convert, they won't be a direct R&R for the Saiga parts).

That would mean that in addition to the parts kit, you'd also need a MMG or Kydex PG wrap to remain featureless and use the high-caps.

In addition to the conversion, you'd also need a domestic stock to complete 922(r) compliance.

Yes the FCG from tapco/dinzag is used for 922 compliant parts, plus I am adding tapco forend and magazine baseplates, followers for 922. Its a stock Saiga so no need for mmg or wrap, it doesnt have a pistol grip. Its gonna look stock but have all the 922compliant parts needed and a bullet guide for my prebans..

Dinzag FCG 2 compliant parts, tapco forend 1 compliant part, magazine baseplate and follower 2 compliant parts. Total compliant 922compliant parts=5
As long as I ONLY use the mags that have the 922compliant parts i will be ok.

The basic conversion itself is easy. It can be done in a couple of hours (or less) with a hand drill, bench vise, and a Dremel.

However, if the idea is to just swap the parts for 922(r), see my post just above this one. I don't think you can directly swap the factory parts.

That's what I'm saying... the Tapco G2 FCG is needed for the conversion to move the trigger forward, but if the goal is to retain the stock position, I think you're stuck with stock parts.

You need to swap 4 parts to be compliant. Tapco forend, baseplates, and followers gives you three, but I think you'd be better off looking to replace the piston if you want to keep the original stock. That'll give you 4 parts without messing with the FCG.

Correct, i misunderstood you, i thought you used the Dinzag fcg for the unconverted Saiga, that is only 2 compliant parts. I guess if i do the dinzag fcg and piston and forend, that will give me the 4 compliant parts and then i can use any of my preban ak mags.. Thats probaby best. Unless i get lucky enough to pick up some battlerifleg3 stock set.

Gotcha... I missed that in the product lineup.

That's the way to go... that's two parts, and your followers and floorplates are the other two that you need.
Adding the piston and forend are just icing on the cake that will allow you to run unmolested import hi-cap mags.

I'm not sure what would be involved in this level of conversion, but it looks like it would be the same because the new trigger block is installed, you just don't remove the stock trigger and wishbone... that saves on punching out one pin.

Here's an excellent video on the full conversion:
Sorry, we couldn’t find that page

I think the bullet guide will be more work than the FCG.
I think the Tapco hammer needs to be modified to allow the BHO to remain in place.

Dinzag sells a FCG for the stock set-up. It counts as 2 US parts.
