    ak mag question

Before I receive my ak I wanted to know, how and were I can purchase magazines for it. Specifically 10rd mags, Not sure but are blocked off 10/30 mags legal to shoot with at the gun range. I figure it would get me into some trouble?

10/30's are legal. Midway sell 10 rounders, Cabelas, brownels, gun shows, 44mags.com.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

"Converting just the rear" to what?

Depending on how you modify it, you will have to comply with the Federal 922r parts requirements.

        FYI.
The Saiga-762, Saiga-556 and Saiga-308 can not use AK magazines, unless you install a bullet guide to the firearm.

          +1
Adding a pistol grip or any other "non sporting" feature triggers both California AW and Federal 922(r) issues.

The Saiga ships with 14 imported listed components. A minimum of four of those must be changed to comply with 922(r) (a "traditional" AK requires 6 changes).
You will also need a "bullet button" mag locking device.
