    I didn't build it, but it is my 1st AR-15

    Stag Arms model 1 with a Weaver rail and a FMPRST 4x32 and a 10/30 PMAG. I am totally stoked and can't wait dial it in next week.

              I think it would be best to remove the optic and learn to use the iron sights, and then put the optic back on and use it

                        Not everyone is mechanically inclined. There's something to be said for just picking it up at your ffl.

                          Nothing wrong with not building your own. I was just too danged cheap to go that route the first time. And once I built one, well, it's like potato chips. And that is a nice looking rifle. Go learn to use it. And use it to figure out what you might like or not like on the next one. And the one after that. And the one after that...

                            Congrats man. I bet you're stoked.

                            Don't shoot it with that optic up there though. When you're ready to use the optic, remove the carry handle and mount the optic on the receiver.
