The sky IS falling, just not for our side. Follow the above links to get more information. The short-short version is yes, you can. Buy a CA legal Off List Lower (OLL). Buy a bullet button to turn it into a non-detachable magazine in the eyes of the law. Use ONLY 10 round magazines. And have fun. There are some other ways to do it, like a featureless build, but you have to do your reading beforehand.
