Where has all the .30-06 gone?

It seems over the last several months, all the surplus .30-06 ammo has dried up. There used to be Greek surplus all over the place. I recently came onto some Garand parts i am going to assemble, so I am looking for .30-06.

Looks like they're sold out of all their ammo. Might just be catching up though.

Actually it is not a rumor, supposedly CMP will have 1000 50cal cans with
loose ammo not clipped. 400rds IIRC. That ammo will go in about 2 days.

The ammo should be ready in a couple of weeks, as told by Orest himself.
              (see CMP site for details)

There is no road paved with MilSurp anymore, it was mentioned that when this
lot runs out, there will be no more 30.06 at CMP.

As for who bought all the ammo, blame it on the Belt-Fed shooters.

CMP supposedly has managed to get a deal on 70 million rounds of Greek HXP 30-06 ammo. That should last for a day or two.

Yeah, but they'll find more in Korea or the Philippines or where ever. Surplus 30-06 is collecting dust all over the world. It's just a matter of them finding it and jumping through all the customs B.S. that they got to go through to get this stuff imported here.

                      ---Begin soap box

Why is hoarding such a negative word when it comes to ammo? I think "hoarders" would call it preparing or investing. Why poopoo someone for jumping on a good deal?

Do you realize there is a finite amount of gold? Do you poopoo those that purchase gold? Is Jay Leno a car hoarder or an investor? If I purchase stock, am I hoarding a finite number of shares that should otherwise go to someone else that is more deserving. If you see a good deal on ammo, jump on it. Do not blame others because you did not.

                      ---End soap box

Teachers now indoctrinate children to believe that keeping things for yourself is bad and that sharing is good. They keep students in the dark about basic economic principles so that kids will grow up being confused and angry about the way a free market works.

"Saving for a rainy day" has now become "hoarding".
"Buy low, sell high" has now become "gouging".

If you had the foresight to buy lots of ammo when it was cheap, it is now your duty to sell that ammo at your original cost to all of the people who were busy buying beenie babies back then, and to those who just didn't want to deal with the inconvenience of storing all of that ammo in their homes.
