    Probably a Stupid Stag Question

Only asking cuz I know I'll get a quick answer...

    What's the diff between a Rock River A4 and a Stag M4.

Will a complete Rock River A4 w/ 20" match up with my complete Mega lower?

Uppers and lowers are interchangeable. Just make sure you have an OLL and stay compliant.

You left a whole lot out of the question. Unless you are just talking about uppers only with no barrels, basically there is no difference. If you are talking about the Stag Model 4H 20" upper, it would compare mainly to the RRA standard A4 20". Those two uppers are pretty much identical, except the Stag comes with a removable carry handle for just a few bucks more than the RRA that you still need to buy something for it. If you were not wanting a carry handle, then go with the RRA and buy a BUIS or put an ACOG on it.

RRA also offers stainless 20" and also match 20" as well. Those guns are going to run a 1:8 twist and should be better performers than the standard RRA or Stag.

Any upper should fit on your Mega.

        Perfect. Thanks for the feedback.

Actually, yeah it's a 20" for both Stag & RRA that I am considering.

The only thing I don't like is the standard Vietnam era looking handguard they come with. But I'm assuming that is an easy switch out to a rail system.

I also assume that both the Stag and the RRA are better options than the Doublestar 20"?

Sorry, but none of the uppers we are discussing come with a standard Vietnam era looking handguard. These are Vietnam era handguards.

What you meant to say is you don't like the standard handguards and would rather have a rail system. The switch can be easy or it can be technical in nature. The easiest, but not the cheapest is the Daniel Defense Omega 12.0 rail. It is free floating, light, and of high quality.

You could do other rails, but you will have to pull off the flash hider, front sight, take the delta ring off, reinstall their ring, and reinstall the sight and flash hider. Unless you have a vice, upper block, and a armorers wrench, you probably won't be able to safely accomplish this.

Yeah, I guess you're right. The modern handguards don't look anythin like the Vietnam era ones. The modern ones have ridges and the old ones were smooth. TOTALLY DIFFERENT!

I do agree on the Omega, though.

And I saved your website into my favorites. Too bad you're not in So. Cal.

Taft is more So Cal than No Cal. Only takes a couple hours to get up here. Even less if you are in the northern part of LA Co.

"L.A."? What's that? Is that in the bubble?

Oh yeah, that's where I go when I leave the bubble in the morning to go work.
