    WOLF AMMO USERS. PERFORMANCE

So I've been using Wolf 62 gr HP/FMJ on my 16" BCM middy on a 25 and 100 yard lanes. I finally got a chance to visit Sunnyvale yesterday and zeroed both irons and cheapy NCStar scope. On the scope, I was able to hit 7 out of 8 rounds bulls eye (ceasefire was called before I could finish all 10 rounds), so I move the target to 100 yards to see how it works and got dismayed. All shots were like 3-4" at 11-12 'oclock. Even after I gave the rifle some time to cool off (shot the .22 marlin60), it just did the same.

So you Wolf ammo users? how'd you do at the range?

dont know if this helps, I've hit a 6" diameter target at 200 yards with irons sights... lol with wolf in my saiga. I assume that higher end ammo (hornady or some sort) would give better results, but I'll take a 200 yard torso hit, for 150 bucks less a case!!

Don't expect too much from Wolf accuracy wise. Its carbine class ammo, not target practice ammo.
You can hit 8in center mass all day 100-400yrds possibly more. If you want better accuracy go for some Black hills blue or white box.

I use the same Wolf, love the stuff.

Sucks. Way dirty. But I guess it doesn't matter if your just shooting to have fun. But it is the cheapest. I just don't like it.

I find Silver Bear (harder to find) a little more accurate than wolf

I usually get ~3-3.5" (5 shot groups) at 100 yards with Wolf and maybe 2-2.5" groups with silver bear....ok but not good, I can get 1-1.5" with 69gr Privi HPBT....

That's good for Wolf Polyformance at 100yd.

Well if I was able to zero the scope at 50 yards, how will it be a scope/mount problem at 100 yards?

Wolf is a volume type of ammo. If you want match results buy match ammo.
Can you put all round on a piece of binder paper at 100 yards?
If so than bad dude is no longer a problem, if not Wolf will buy their ammo back from you.

Different points in bullet Trajectory. If I set my scope at 25 yards, at 100 yds I need to adjust my elevation on the scope again. Some ammo have a flatter line of travel then others.

Oh yeah, bad dude definitely wont be a problem at 100 yards (assuming he's fully exposed). All 10 rounds were 3-4" at 11-12 o'clock on a 7" diameter circle target.

Oh, well then its not a scope/mount problem. As others have said, if I use a match grade ammo or maybe even a true 5.56 round instead of 223 rounds then shot placements would have been better. As I understand it, If I zero at 50 yards, my shots at 100 yards will then be around 1 1/2" (?).

I was at Coalinga gun range this weekend and was nailing the steel pigs on the 300 meter range with no problem with 55 gr FMJ Wolf. So I decided to put up some clays out on the 300 meter range and had no problems nailing them with both Wolf and Sliver Bear 62 gr HP's.

If you zero at 50-yd, your groups at 100-yd should concentrate at 12 o'clock. It looks like your scope alignment is off by 10-15 degrees counter clockwise.

Wolf ammo is good for practice and 2-3" groups at 100-200-yards is combat accurate enough.
Trajectory will change zero from 25yds. You should zero at 100yds.
I use Prvi Partizan 62 grn ammo for more effective results at longer distance.
Wolf is GTG for having some cheap fun.
