I have a new Mini 14 ranch rifle. I would like to put a scope on it. I don't want to spend a fortune, but would like to get the right scope for the gun. I know very little about scopes. The reveiws online are all over the place. I know the gun isn't the most accurate, but I would like to see the target at a 100 yards.

What type of work you intend to do with the rifle? If you just want to plink, play, Millet or TriJicon 1-4x work really well and are not to much dough....good luckI have a new Mini 14 ranch rifle. I would try one of the cheaper Nikon scopes (Prostaff?) they are clear and not a lot of money. But don't expect great accuracy out of it. If you want a semi-auto varmint gun a flattop AR is the way to go.Comment

What ever scope you choose be sure to add some recoil buffers to the op-rod and gas block pipe. The reciprocating action and particularly the "clank" to the front hammers scopes. I use 1911 pistol buffers on my mini-14.

SWFA is selling (on sale by $30.00) the Burris "Timberline" scopes in 3 to 9 X 32 for about $110.00. The scopes are very compact, I just bought one for use on my Accuracy Systems reworked Mini - whenever it shows up.I have a new Mini 14 ranch rifle. I would like to put a scope on it. The Burris Timberline is their economy line, but I've bought 3 or 4 of them in various powers for some smaller sized rifles such as a Browning 22 takedown and a Rem 788 carbine and Ruger 77 International and they work great.GOA Member & SAF Life MemberComment
