The 1903" I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight... razor... and surviving. "Comment

I always bring a side arm and a rifle for my National Forest treks. I'm going up to my spot on the 17th. I plan on bringing the 92F and the M4gery - KISS build. Keeping it simple and light.
At a minimum, I bring the .45 - even for the civilized campgrounds as you never know. I just keep it under wraps.Next to me in the blackness lay my oiled blue steel beauty. The greatest Christmas gift I had ever received, or would ever receive. Gradually, I drifted off to sleep, pringing ducks on the wing and getting off spectacular hip shots.

I vote 03A3. If someone runs across you while carrying your rifle, they will see a hunting rifle and not an "evil assault weapon".
'Course if you're backpacking, I'd go for the lightest of the three.Strong people are harder to kill than weak people, and more useful in general - Mark RippetoeComment

I voted for the M1A Scout. The detachable magazines make clearing the rifle easier than the other two. if you have a fiberglass stock it also makes it a little lighter than the other two.Comment
