    SKS question

On an otherwise unaltered SKS, Is a pistol grip or thumbhole stock legal in CA?

The rifle in question is a Norinco and is 922r compliant. It has a Choate ambidextrous stock and I'm thinking of taking the saddle area of the stock down a little. Almost to the point of it resembling a possible "pistol grip", but will most resemble the low saddle on a McMillan tactical stock. I have no desire to use removable mags, or the like. Just an altered stock.

    Thanx!
