    PTR91 Heavy Recoil Buffer?

I was wondering if any of you that own PTR91's have installed the HK91/G3 Heavy Recoil Buffer and if you have what kind of fitting is required. Seems to me that it should be a direct drop in. I have checked my stock recoil buffer(Which is wimpy) and there appears to be plenty of room for it to simply drop in and be bolted in place.

Here is the buffer I reference.

Sorry man, I have several PTR's but have never tried those. I'd be curious to know the results though.

I have one installed in my Nambian stocked PTR91. Fit just fine in the Namibian stock.

Call Adam over HKparts.net, and he can tell you for sure.

Not really what your asking, but I dropped in an MSG90 buffer into mine. No fitting required, though PTR doesn't use the plastic support that bolts into the back of the buffer.

Hi All. the Heavy two stage buffer you are referring to will fit the standard stock with some enlarging of the hole in the metal backplate. If the PTR stock is there unit, it usually does not have the large bolt that fits in behind the buffer. When you remove the buttstock from the rifle you should see two small screws that hold the buffer to the stock. Remove these two screws and pull the buffer out. You then can enlarge the main hole where the buffer slides in. A dremel tool works well for this job. Just go slow and remove as little metal as you need to slide the buffer in. Install the two small screws and reinstall the stock. You will notice less felt recoil and shooting will be more fun. Enjoy
