I've got the AimShot setup. It works really well. I've got the .223 Diode and the .308, 30-30 and 30-06 arbors.
Absolutely no complaints, a little more expensive that the "one size fits all" type that you stick it in barrel and hope it doesn't move, but much easier to use and IMO more accurate.Disenfranchised NRA Benefactor Life Member.

I was thinking about getting the aimshot, but am a cheap bastard so I didnt. I ended up manually boresighting my rifle and it worked out fine.Comment

I have both in-chamber (Alpec) and in-muzzle laser boresighters (LaserLyte).
They are useful, as they get you on the paper. But don't expect dead-nuts zero from 'em.

Don't ever dry fire with one in a chamber, ruins casing.
Both seemed inconsistent to me - remove, replace, re-aim and the dot's in a different position. While I could understand the LaserLyte in-muzzle system doing that, was surprised at that in Alpec, though it'd be tighter.

...that's all a boresighter is supposed to do. It's up to the shooter to refine the zero of a rifle/sighting system/ammuntion combination.
Seem tor recall that Alpecs have been touted as being able to reverify your zero - that is if your crosshairs are X" off the dot, you're OK.
But consistency is not strong, varies way it is loaded into chamber, etc.

It's intended to be used at a specific distance (IIRC 10 meters) and set up for each weapon with a paper target.
...user determines the point around which the laser spot has rotated and adjusts windage and elevation of the beam to coincide with that center point. It takes awhile to set up, but the objective is to minimize offset of the laser spot when the boresighter is rotated in the bore.
