Should I trade my Mini 14 for a 7.62x39 Saiga?

I have an almost new Mini14. I'm thinking of trading it for a Saiga in 7.62x39. I have 2 rifles now in .223/5.56, the Mini and my AR build. I was thinking I'd like to have something in 7.62. What do you all think?

    Here's my Mini:

Why would you want to make it hard on yourself and need to buy two different calibers of ammo? What would you use it for? What does the 7.62X39 do better than the .223/5.56 for your intended use?

An almost new Mini 14 could re-sell for 600 or more. A brand new Saiga goes for 350-400. I think there's kind of a red flag there. Sell the Mini (you will get a darned quick sell at 550-650). Take that money and some pocket change, and you can buy two Saigas.

      Just sayin'.

Its not a SKS, its a Saiga. Saiga is a russian AK.

Keep the mini-14..it's a staple in anyone's collection and a sure shooter. Plus, it's made in America.

I like my 7.62x39 Saiga a lot more than my mini. It's more accurate, seems lighter, swings and points better and just feels nicer in my hands. Both have been extremely reliable. That said, the mini is worth a lot more than the Saiga, so like other posters have said, sell the Ruger and buy a brand new Saiga if you want one. You are getting ripped if it's a straight up trade.
