    Need help assembling ar15 upper.

    Hello All,
I'm not a ar newbie....but I am an upper assembly newbie. I've done the pin kit thing on the lowers and that was not hard.

I have an ar upper...thats all dissassembled. I would prefer it to be assembled

I bought a bushmaster dissipator upper minus the upper reciever

I also have the bcg. I need the flattop upper reciever still. When I get that I believe that I have everything I need to assemble. I have never done it before. So... How do I assemble it so it doesnt blow up in my face?

Any links or advice are greatly appreciated!!!!

The tools to do it right cost far more than paying a professional.
If you are going to be building lots of them, buy the tools.
If it's less than 1 per year, have someone else do it.

If you are in so-cal, I can do this while you wait for $25.

$25 while you wait is a great deal.
You're going to need a sturdy vice and to buy or borrow an upper vise block and barrel nut wrench. Some anti-sieze compound since the steel barrel nut gets threaded onto the aluminum upper threads. The toughest part is when you get the barrel tightened just right and one of the splines on nut is completely blocking the gas tube port into the receiver. You don't want to loosen it so you got to tighten it more till you get a clear shot at the port - time for the cheater pipe over the wrench. Or you may get lucky and there's a clear shot for the tube into the port first time, but that never happened for me.
