redi mag doesnt weigh much.ill see if i can find a scale and weigh the individual parts and the whole gun...im thinking i just need to man up and start training to hold it up for longer periods... what would be some good exercises to aid me in being able to hold the gun up longer and make it easier to manuver without walking around the house scaring my room mates

Don't be fooled as I was, this is the worst zombie movie ever!

Do both--trim a little weight AND get stronger.

      I recommend:

Replace the scope with an Aimpoint H-1 or T-1 Micro on a Larue tall mount. Mount it forward enough that you can fit a twist-off Aimpoint 3X magnifier behind it.

Go with a much lighter/smaller light. I've seen some guys run pistol weaponlights and tape switches to great effect. Light as a feather and still bright and with good throw. You can even run them on 1 O' Clock mounts to get better ergonomics if you want to use the factory switches without tape switches.

Remember, ounces become pounds, especially if you have to carry this for any length of time OR shoot it one-handed with your weaker hand. I ran a medium-weight rig at a course and had problems supporting the rifle through the one-hand drills. Keep in mind that you are not just dealing with weight any more--you're really dealing with TORQUE, since the weight is being distributed far forward of your grip.

Keep the rest and get strong enough to run it.

change the balance to get it less nose heavy by swapping for a heavier stock (UBR, SOPMOD). Balance is really the biggest issue.

If you want to burn some money, get the barrel profiled down, get a T-1 Micro Aimpoint, dump the Redimag, and get a lighter light (VTAC SureFire)
