    AR 15 repair kits.

I was wondering if repair kits are really needed for the casual shooter like me? I saw some on the internet that are going for about $60. I do have pof upper and was curious if these repair kits are pretty universal.

Here's a link to one of them:

Not really. It's good to have parts though if you're going to take a class. Spare bolt, firing pin, gas rings would be a minimum.

Yes....One thing I learned from owning a POF piston...was that extra parts come in handy.

Get one kit at the least. You can store the kit in a MIAD or in the VFG you are looking into in your other thread.

Extra parts are always a bonus....I have had the need in nearly 10k rounds to replace my extractor+springs, my firing pin, and also my disconnecter+spring.

So they are always good to have. If you take any kind of class, that is something you should bring with you.

Do you carry a spare tire in your car? Like any tool, would you rather have it and not need it, or need it and be screwed.
There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

Just buy the LPK for your next rifle & all the internals to a BCG (not the carrier/key). This way, if you need something, you'll have it. If you don't, use it for the next build.

                BCG parts to buy:
complete bolt, firing pin, cam pin, firing pin retaining pin.

Toss in a buffer spring and gas rings and I think you'd be well prepared.

Yes, have spare parts in your range bag. It'll save your butt the day that something decides to give out on you and threatens to end your fun time at the range prematurely.

problem is, once you do that, you would want another lower, and then the cycle repeats. BRD!

I'm sorry, you started by saying "problem is," but I don't see where you state what that problem actually is.

$$$+AR=. AR parts break=. AR fixed with replacement parts=. Realize that another AR can be built . Builds another AR, and another, and so on...Bank statement arrives
