    AR trigger recommendations?

Here's what I'm looking for: lightest trigger pull, maintaining 100% successful primer strikes, & durability for the long haul. Any suggestions? I heard mixed reviews about the RRA triggers as far as durability. The LMT triggers sound good but I haven't heard much about them. Thanks.

My Geissele came with the light Match spring (First Stage: 1.3 – 3 pounds Second Stage: 4 to 14 ounces) as well as the Service spring (First Stage: 3.2 – 5 pounds Second Stage: 0.5 to 1.5 pounds) from Rainier Arms. I love being able to adjust my trigger pull weight via bending the springs, fine adjustments with allens, or by completely swapping out springs.

If you buy direct from Geissele, you can ask them to set the 1st stage spring weight for you. Not to mention you get a Geissele hat.

you looking single stage or 2-stage?

single stage I vote for timney hands down. 3lbs crisp pull and break with no play.

If you are in the market for a single stage, there is another category to consider - the non-adjustable, uses stock mil spec springs, ultra reliable trigger.

There are only 2 triggers I know of that meet this description - Geissele makes one (SSA?), and Accuracy Speaks makes one. Both break around 3-4 lbs, use stock springs, and have no adjustments to come loose. These are the only aftermarket/match triggers I know of that would truly be suited in a combat gun.

That said, lots of guys run JP's, Timney's, and others in their run-n-gun setups with no problems. I'm even told several LE agencies use JP triggers - so properly set up they should be more than good enough for competitions/fun shooting or home defense.

I recently decided to upgrade the trigger in my AR from the "15 min trigger job" - the pull was good, but I was having some problems with light strikes and wanted a shorter reset. The Geissele SSA sounded nice, but I couldn't find anyone who had them in stock (not even Geissele). The Accuracy Speaks trigger was less, and what little I could find on it was positive - so I ordered one (direct). Hope to get it next week - I'll let you know my impressions.

BTW - here is a good read on trigger options - http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=12&t=366464

Either the Timney, Geissele, or the JP. You can adjust the JP down to almost nothing. No creep and extremely great price. I think the JP is around $130. If you want a drop in, go with the Timney 3lb skeleton. The solid 3lb timney has a weird cut on the trigger and didn't feel good IMHO. The skeleton feels great and happens to be my favorite. I've never used a Geissele, but I've heard nothing but praise about them.

Rob Melhorne does a great trigger. Drop in I like my Accuracy Speaks. 10 years of alot of shooting and not a problem. Crisp break light enough for me.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.
