Selling the whole lot of approx. 1500 rifles .... wow! That comes out to $359 each! I don't have the cash to front the purchase for a group buy but I'd be good for at least ONE.

Surprised another retailer like Century or Brownells doesn't buy the lot and sell them for triple that price. Very nice rifles and the volume discount is impressive. Would be a lot of work to sell 1,500 rifles though in this economy.

Saw that. By the time all the other necessary fees are paid the price won't be that great anymore.

They look to have the auto sear hole.

These rifles (full auto AKM's) aren't in the US. They could be imported, but would have to be demilled by torch cutting the receivers in three pieces and have
                  their barrels cut up.

So in effect they are parts kits.

In addition the buyer would have to in addition pay for transportation costs import fees as well as other costs.

                  Way over priced.

Which is why a SERIOUS buyer would call and negotiate.

Bowman has a department setup specifically for imports and their prices are on the website.

Here's the rifle kits, which they are selling. Demilled as I described.

                      $650

At the price they are being offered there is not much profit left. These would be parts kits without barrels if eventually imported into the US.

Century and other importers pay around $100 or less for these rifles overseas. At that price there is profit left. At over $350 each there is no profit left.

Back when AK parts kits (with barrels) were first being imported, importers were paying less than $20 per rifle overseas and selling them as kits here in the US for around $100. They made less than $50 each, but still made $$$.

It's expensive to pay for transport, taxes as well as the cost to cut them up. If importers can't get 3X the price they pay for each unit, it's not worth the money.

As I mentioned in my above post, Bowman sells these rifles themselves as parts kits for $650. They aren't going to cut their price on rifles to a competitor who would undercut their own price on kits.

In reality I'm guessing they are trying to find a international arms dealer who will sell them to another country and avoid all the associated costs of demill and import into the US.

As far as 1,500 rifles being a lot to sell. Not at all. That's only 30 per state. Heck I know of one retailer here in Prescott who orders AK rifles by the hundreds at a time. Selling 30 + a week is easy.

If the Calif AWB were to go away I bet semi auto AK's would sell at least 500 per day state wide for many weeks in Calif alone.
