Right on.
We have been designing a brake with a screw on deflector. We will do a lot of testing before releasing it for sale so we can be confident in our answer when asked. But, we have a couple other releases before then.

I have one of those as well. Got it several years ago, can't recall the maker. It's a side vent brake with a screw on "sound sleeve".

Turns out the threads will tightly fit a truck oil filter.
