    Muzzle device

What muzzle device do yall run on featureless ARs?

I have a linear comp on a few, a2 muzzle brake but was thinking of a muzzle brake with screw on shield to turn it into a linear comp for range use so I?m not the ******* busting ears lol

Anyone run one? Figure the weight of it will tame the mighty 556

Only 1 featureless, it has just a thread protector. The rest are all RAW's.

This is the one I'm thinking of using.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Similar to A2 style brake, the open top slots and closed bottom increase muzzle control and reduce dust signature making it compliant with California Featureless laws. The end is also blocked to reduce recoil. 1/2″ x 28 threads .223/ 5.56 compatible. *This device will not reduce or remove flash. •  Increases muzzle control [...]

But I want to replace the barrel with a mid length 14.7 inch barrel. Having a hard time finding one in stock that I like. ( one not too expensive, thin barrel with standard A2 FSB. chrome lined M4 cuts parkerized).

We are currently working on two similar products. The A2 brake is a bit different looking, but still has flash-hider aesthetics. We are programming that one now. I'm still finishing up the design on the brake with a screw on shield (blast forwarder), but it looks cool so far. After machining it will be on to testing, and if everything goes well, we will post something on Calguns. Now I better hurry up and get back to work!

I run your standard AK-74 Muzzle Brake...Best brake design there is.

Oh, you said AR, not AK...Sorry, my bad.

If you are not worried about cost I like the Surefire suppressor ready breaks. Mostly for the looks, but they make a non suppressor that screws on like a suppressor and dampens the flash signature ever better than a hider should you even be in a free state or the law changes. I forget the name. It’s pricey but cool. On one upper I have an ASR break from
SCO. The finish comes off too fast. The surefire stuff looks best.

My Noveske upper normally sits on a registered lower from a different brand since that lets me run it as God intended. But I have a break on it so I can legally run it on the Noveske lower which is not-registered and setup to run featureless. If it had a surefire suppressor ready break instead of the SCO ASR break, I could run that screw on flash suppressor when I had it on the registered lower and take it off when on the featureless lower and always be in compliance.

Linear Comps on all my featureless rifles. Brake on my RPR. Just being courteous at the range to anyone shooting next to me. Rather have rear impulse anyways.

I think the device from surefire that works as a hider that can easily slip onto and clamp on their suppressor ready breaks is called the Surefire Warden. Could be wrong. I like the idea of it, not the price. But those sorts of things can be added over time. More than anything I like the option. Plus the Surefire suppressor ready breaks are kinda sexy. As are their hiders. The non suppressor ready stuff looks silly to me. If I have to go through the effort of replacing the A2 hider, I want the end result to look better than it did before. Rather than grumble every time I have to look at some goofy thing CA made me do.

I got surefire socom muzzle brakes on all my Ar's. I have one warden that I switch between them as needed.
