    Soldering iron+AR parts+a boring afternoon =?

So after borrowing a magazine from Haley at a recent class I noticed that he had stippled them for better purchase... Seemed to help so I decided to do the same....

I then did the same to my ladder rail covers...

Going to let everything cool down so I can change out the tip and try a few different things before I practice on an extra grip I have before I knock out my MIAD's

Eh, it was either this or finish more chores around the house... You can see what I decided on haha

True it was a time consuming process but after trying his mag and seeing the advantage I figured it was worth giving it a shot

I will knock out a MIAD or two later and then decide on if I want to do my Glock myself or send it out to Wendell Tactical Concepts

well, next class you attend let us know if your improvements work.

I have seen people do that to their mags before. Personally I just go down to the local sk8 shop (usually 2 hot chicks working) and ask for discarded griptape for skateboards...sure it peels off after a while but thats long after its dirty and thrashed anyway....then I go get some more to replace it.

I have never had a standard mag fly outta my hands though either so....???

I do find your ladder cover mod interesting....I run a VFG so I doubt I would ever need such a mod. Very interesting though.

Already tracking with the grip tape...

I have never had a mag fly out of my hands but after a few hours in the 100+ degree heat up in OR it was hard to keep a solid hold on anything (mags, pistol, etc)

With wet, sweaty, muddy or bloody hands I will take every advantage I can get

nice Glock...19 correct? I need another one....my last was hot pink and I sold it to a member here for his wife....I do miss it. However I want one of the new gen Glocks....I believe the grip pattern is more aggressive.

Correct it is a 19... This is one is going to be sent out for a grip reduction and stipple job, combined with the XS Big Dots, Insight M6 and Glock 3 1/2# disconnect it makes for a decent carry pistol

                      Personally I use >>>This<<<.

They sell sheets of it as well to wrap most anything with it.
The wetter your hands get the more it sticks to them.
Best part is it's removable without leaving any residue, and doesn't (permanently) modify the firearm.

                        They also have this

But it is a little more expensive. Nice if you want it to look pretty.

I definately agree with the 100+ degree temps. Gets hard to get a hold on stuff. I couldn't even rack the slide on my 1911 after 30 minutes of shooting my AR in the desert sun. Had to wipe my hands profusely and it was still hard. Mags are the same, a little easier but it definately helps to put some kind of texture on them.

                          BlackDrop,

I have seen those, my problem is that with the way I grip my magazine my hand is in contact with the front and rear of the magazine and not so much on the sides

If the Magpul guys do it or have it, its got to be the best! lol jk. IMO, for me, its not worth it. Im not a Magpul fanboy. Another less permanent option would to wear gloves.

I don't think I would exactly call myself a fanboy...

Anyway HH6 has the night off which means the TV is basically locked on Lifetime so I just finished this
