    Atlantic Firearms sponsor on calguns?

I thought I was dreaming when I just saw their ad banner up top. Atlantic gave CA the boot back in July 2008 due to the new law that makes every dealer out of state get an approval # for every serial # gun that enters CA (or however that works). I had dealt with them in the past with good results & was disappointed to see them turn their back on us. Now they are a sponsor here? Anyone purchased from them since they became a sponsor? Not trying to stir the stinkpot, just curious.

If they pay the fee they get the banner...

I think that's how it works.

I tried to get a Saiga from them last summer, I was told to move.

It's amazing what a glut of supply will do to companies' attitudes about California. All of a sudden our $$$$$$ is good enough for them.

Yes we are a sponsor and now shipping several items to CA , we had very restricted sales to CA in the past due to advice from our Lawyer . It has been a few years since the Bullet button concept has been out and so far no major legal backlash and our layer feels comfortable with us shipping at this time. Our previous limited sales to CA position was not Turing our back it was protecting our business from unnecessary lawsuits in a very sue crazy society . We are offering a line of AK , AR, FAL, PTR rifles and Saiga 12 Shotguns and offer discounts to Cal Gun members off of our web site price.

fusionstar , the discount will vary depending on the item the best way is to email us what you are looking for and your Cal Guns user name for a price quote , we are running some sweet deals on the Saiga IZ 132 rifles it is the best price in the country at this time but we cannot list the $$ because of advertising agreements .

I just did a transfer from them and it was easy. Seems they saw the error of their ways. Most FFLs outside CA thought the Approval Letter was going to require a lot more effort then it actually does. It is funny to still see some FFLs on Gunbroker deny CA buyers. Their loss.

The approval letter was not really the issue , it was the grey area of bullet buttons , mags as parts , taking off pistol grips etc that gave some concern to our legal advisers. They wanted to give it a year or so to see if anyone got sued etc or there were any problems with this , everyone is very aware of the sue happy society and we were not eager to risk our business or the livleyhood of our employees to rush in to quickly. When **** hits the fan in ref to gun issues the opposing legal team will interpret the grey areas in their favor usually resulting in a loss for the gun buisness . We are very happy now to be able to work with our California customers and look forward to expanding our product lines for CA sales.

I just ordered an AK-47 and I am highly pleased at the level of Customer Service from Atlantic Firearms so far. Email was returned promptly and was informative, and they even notified me of the discount on my order for being a Calguns.net forums member.

I can't wait to get the rifle and test it, and then buy other things from them on my list.

Which one did you buy, if you don't mind me asking? I've been looking into buying an AK-47 for a few weeks now, and I've never gone through the "ordering online, ship to FFL" process. None of the gun shops around here carry them on-hand. Bay Area Gun Vault had a few WASR AK-22s, which was good to get a feel for the weight and shape of the gun, but it only drove me to want a real AK-47 more.

There's a bunch of threads here about AKs, AK Pistols, and "Post Pictures of your AK!", but I haven't found a solid thread that shows exactly how (and suggestions where) to buy an California legal AK-47. Searching to forums for "AK" or "AK-47" return nothing, probably because the search terms are so short.

Anyone care to help me out?
