Did you actually apply the aforementioned products to the weapon?

After cleaning, lightly lube. No need for excessive lube.

ARs like to be wet, not dry. And IMO, Breakfree, a very good CLP, dries up after a period of time. For long time storage, I use Slip 2000 products, specifically EWL30; it stays wet longer and doesn't "migrate" too much, it tends to stay put. YMMV.

You may want to switch to a synthetic lube for the AR action, that seems to be the general recommendation. I used to use MPro 7, but then figured it is quicker and easier to use CLP.

That is a weird one that I haven't experienced so no input from me other than the barrel lugs are off due to extension clocking? I wouldve mortared and heat to the action. The dowel was a good idea.

I appreciate everyone's help and advice.

Really did a deep clean of the BCG and got everything back together and it's good as new. Just need to get to the range in the next week or so to confirm that the rifle's still zeroed before heading to class.

              Thanks again!

I also find this to be the best lube money can buy. I used to use mobile 1 and still do on occasion but that Slip 2000 is great stuff.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Do you have n M16 chamber brush with the brushes on the end that clean the barrel extension where the bolt locks up? I cant think of anything that would lock up a clean and lubed AR short of aot of gunk, carbon, or maybe a piece of blown out primer that got wedged up in there.

Something is mechanically wrong there. I have AR’s I’ve never cleaned and that doesn’t happen. I’d bring a spare bcg and charging handle just in case.

OP, take a look at the bolt/bolt cam pin (?)/BCG where the bolt cam pin resides. It's odd that the cam didn't want to unlock the lugs by the BCG getting pulled by the charging handle, but push the bolt back and the cam works? Could be a burr or slight deformation either on lugs or with the cam.

Whatever it is, I hope it's easy and obvious.

I had that happen when I bought a bad batch of ammo and the primers where ripping off and one got stuck inside the upper in-between the bolt and inside of the upper. Where you would think there would be no room for it. But it got back in there. Like you had to I forced it open, the offending chunk of primer fell free. Stopped using that Fiocchi crap that was breaking apart on me, and everything was fine from then on. Never had it happen from cleaning or lack thereof.
