I don't see how they can make it CA legal with a folding stock and a 16" barrel.

They will remove the standard cap mag ( usualy no replacement with 10 rnd ), Remove flash hider , fix / pin the stock so it cannot be adjusted, slap a fin grip on, and send it. Or they might do a mag lock situation and keep the features on there...

I think you guys missed my point about the folding stock (I knew it would be legal with a fixed stock, that was not what I was questioning). The point was that in order to have a folding stock the barrel would have to be at least 18 inches if not longer to meet the minimum length, so maybe a very long flash hider. If you would pin the folding stock you might as well have a regular AR.

Just my two cents, and I know no one cares, but if I seen “part time FAL” advertised on anything I’d like it to be 7.62x51.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Isn't this similar to an AR18 without the stamped receiver? Don't recall if the charging handle situation is the same, but the stats seem similar. No buffer assembly in the buttstock and I think they were both short stroke. If this is the case, Brownells sells the AR180 that might be worth taking a look at.
