Just cleaning the rifle and noticed the trigger lever moves sideways when there is no tension on it, if I move it to far to one side it blocks the trigger action from locking open when hand cocked. Seems the trigger tube slides over the pin that goes through the receiver. Not sure if I got oil on it or it has always had slop, is this common. I just built it and dont remember the trigger moving around, but I never really checked that either.

AK Trigger Question

your trigger axis pin is loose. if you used e-clips you may need 2. you mentioned the tube so i'm assuming you didn't leave it out. if the axis pin isn't seated tightly on the big end it can back out enough to cause sideplay. when you shoot it it'll probably come out enough to fall out of the small hole. sometimes you have to tighten the reciever, either by carefully squeezing or by slightly dimpling the hole. very common on the old tapco flats with their f/u trigger holes.sigpic Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc -
This is a new receiver, the pin that goes through, the one with the shepherds hook is in tight, no movement. Its a brand new tapco g2 trigger, single hook. The tube that came with the g2 trigger slides over the pin that is connected to the shepherds hook. Its the g2 tube that has movement, the g2 tube looks to be 1/4 of an inch away from hitting the receiver pin, so it slides over both sides.sigpicComment

As a matter of fact I make sure to put a little Ezoxx on that tube over the pin on my AKs so don't worry about some oil on the pin under the tube. Any parts that will rub against one another is a good place for some lube IMHO.Last edited by nicoroshi; 08-05-2009, 9:40 PM.Comment

yes exactly, just wasnt sure if I got oil on it, as I was scrubbing out everything with an old dry oily toothbrush, had some rust spots show up from the blueing. I was thinking if it does hinder operation I may possibly chisel a flat spot 1/16 of an inch on each side of the receiver pin just to keep it from sliding around, but if its normal I wont worry. I usually keep the hammer cocked and had just noticed it when cleaning, but when cocked it barely moves and thats with no bolt in it.sigpicComment
