    CZ feedback

Anyone have any experience with their rifles? Any feedback on quality is appreciated.

I had a 527 Carbine in 7.62x39. I could shoot 2" groups at 100 yards all day long using a 2.5X scope and Wolf ammo.

The thing oozed quality... cold hammer forged barrel, superb fit and finish, beautiful bluing and nice wood. The action was super slick. One thing I didn't like about it was the set trigger. When you set it, it's scary light (1# maybe less). But, the normal trigger was heavy and really spongy. I just wished it just had a normal trigger with a decent 3-4# pull.

I stupidly sold it for FAR less than I should have in order to fund a CMP Special M1 Garand. Oh well, at least I got a really nice M1 Garand.

Two of my friends have the CZ 452 .22LR rifle. One bought it new and the other bought a used one. They have excellent build quality. I once read a guide on .22 rifles and pistols and it rated really high for its price. Actually, if I remember correctly, the receiver is forged steel which means that it's really overbuilt for the requirement. It'll last you a lifetime. I don't think that you have to worry about quality.

Whatever you are looking at, you might want to see what aftermarket accessories are available and at what price. Also, what smiths are available if you want to do something to it.

Actually, I should have bought one when it was a low price.

Have a CZ FS 550 in .30-06. For the price, can't beat the quality! Well made, has adjustable rear ramp sight, stock is nice, finish is tough. Dropped it on my Vortex Viper scope off the shooting table which kept the stock from getting banged up, picked it up and shot some more great groups. LOVE the Mauser action, haven't tried to smooth anything, probably could use it, but not like I have to in order that it shoot well. The set trigger is awesome for me as it is light and releases before I can flinch! Would buy another FS 550 in another caliber in heartbeat if I had a need/desire for a GREAT bolt action rifle at a fair price. Have been getting into Marlin lever actions lately, so no need, but if I found a sweet 6.5x55 I could be convinced! Buy with confidence! Just my opinion!

I have a CZ 527 American in 22 Hornet. It is very well made and the most accurate rifle I own.
